Youth Fishing Tournament
The Cassadaga Lakes Association will be holding their 23th Annual Lew Mead Youth Fishing Tournament on Saturday, June 25th. Our event will be held at the DEC boat launch on Dale Drive from 7:00-11:30 A.M. It is free to all youth 16 and under.
There are four age brackets for trophies in separate divisions for boys and girls. Many other prizes are distributed by lottery. There is a grab bag for each participant with artificial bait, bobbers and packets of hooks and food certificates. Free hot dogs and sodas will be provided for all those in attendance. We also want to encourage family fishing on the lakes, so we ask parents and/or guardians to accompany each youth. It is a great activity to teach kids how to fish. Please support the sponsors that make the fishing tournament possible. Contact chairman Ron Gross at 595-3950 if you wish to donate a prize or volunteer at this event.

The three interconnecting glacial lakes which make up Cassadaga Lakes are home to great fishing from pan fish to muskellunge. This is a nature lover?s paradise. Lucky individuals may get to see bald eagles, beavers, great horned owls, muskrats, mute swans, osprey, painted turtles or a nice fish swirling next to their boat.
Canoeing and kayaking are great fun in the calm waters of the Cassadaga Lakes. You may see fishermen, water skiers, tubers, and even swimmers in the lake all at the same time. Whatever the sport you?re participating in on the lakes, please come and enjoy and respect those that are on the lake with you.
The CLA hopes that you will join us for your water sport activities. Our commitment to educational programs, water safety, water quality testing, and weed control helps enhance this wonderful water environment. Please do your part to protect the lakes and keep them beautiful for generations to come.
